Hello, Glass Panels!
Since our last post that was made on 7 July 2016 (Part 4), today (21 July 2016), the Apple Retail Store has made another substantial progress.
The front white canvas of the Retail Store has been since removed which suggests the renovation works are largely on the installation of its front facing huge glass panels like other renowned Apple Retail Stores around the world.
Behind the white canvas reveals the structures for the Retail Store’s front glass. Although there are few structures in place currently, but as time goes, we should be able to see more glass structures being installed for the Store’s front.Wood crates can also be found at the front of the Retail Store for its renovation works with warning signs “Attenzione Glas” found on the crates. “Attenzione Glas” which translates to “Caution Glass”. This could suggest the wooden crates may contain glass panels for the Retail Store.
The manufacturer for the glass is “Seele” which has helped Apple in many of the renowned Apple Retail Stores around the world. Some of the stores are:
- Fifth Avenue (New Cube) New York, USA
- Jungfernstieg, Hamburg, Germany
- Boston, USA
- Regent Street, London, UK
- Glasgow, UK
- Sydney, Australia
Apart from Apple Retail Stores, some of other renowned places that uses Seele are:
- Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong Airport, Hong Kong, China
- Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3, UK
According to the news, Seele and Apple have a partnership for the manufacturing of the glass for its stores, like the Fifth Avenue store in New York and the Apple Campus 2, which is also to be made majority out of curved glass.
“The Fifth Avenue store in New York was one of Apple’s most special outlets worldwide”
“You’re the best in the world!”
As according to Tim Cook which he had declared “You’re the best in the world!” This was when a “huge facade pane is the Swabians’ last delivery for the futuristic Apple Campus 2, home of the new Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California.”

UPDATE (29th July 2016): According to a 9to5Mac reader, Myles, had shared a construction work notice with the expection of completion to be completed by 31st October 2016. This would probably mean that the Apple Retail Store will be most likely be opening its door during November or later.
In conclusion, Singapore’s Apple Retail Store is now in the installation of the glass panels progess stage whereby large amounts of glass will be installed which is the trademark of all and most Apple Retail Stores around the world.
The Apple Retail Store is known to be opened in the Late 2016 which could be during September to October onwards. hopefully in time for the launch of new products like the iPhone 7, which rumoured to be in the same time frame.
